Internet Explorer Shut Down

When i go to internet explorer and click into any of my favorites, i get a message that intenet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close.

Aslo when i try to run excel or word, they show up on my screen temporarily and then i get a message that says, "the application must be installed to run, Please run setup from the location where you originally installed the application......

hello and welcome to geekstogo,
if you are getting frequent error messages saying that it need to close you should probably go to the malware forum and they might be able to detect something there, as for the word and excel thing. Sounds like you need to reinstall the software and then it'll be up and running as good as new.

thanks, i just restarted in safe mode and ran adaware, and found a trojan.... also ran mcafee and didn't get anything..... everything seems fine now.......thanks again
