this is my very first post, so i hope i know what im doing.

my task manager wont open with ctrl alt del or when i right click the windows taskbar either. i also tried opening the TASKMAN application in C:\WINDOWS, and copying and renaming that application, neither work. my limewire program also opens up by itself everytime i close it.

i believe the problem started when i downloaded something called setup.exe, me being stupid, i opened it but blocked its access with my firewall software. there is now a hidden folder in C:\Program Files called outlook with an application called outlook (not outlook express). i believe this is where the problem is coming from, but i cant delete it because when i try, it says the application is being used and since i cant open the taskmanager i cant stop the application to delete it.

any advice on my problem?

Hi itzdatng...

Please go to the Malware Forum and follow the instructions.

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself...then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum. Be patient, the Malware Forum is a very busy place and a two or three day wait is not unusual. DO NOT REPLY TO OR BUMP YOUR OWN LOG. If it shows a reply it may be overlooked as one that is being worked on.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.
