"Gbuy will be available starting June 28th for the merchants already involved in Google's Gbuy beta test; the rest will have to wait for a six to eight weeks implementation period."

pretty slack of google to do that...........they oviously cant make up there own stuf and they have to copy others. anyway i dont think it will be as good and as used as paypal is.

PayPal fees are expensive. Rumor is Gbuy will be free in beta, and quite a bit cheaper than PayPal when the beta is finished. Combined with a slick and friendly user interface, I think PayPal ought to be worried.

PayPal is owned by eBay. It seems Google has their sites on eBay more than Microsoft these days.

I will be looking forward to a new online pay system. I am banned from paypal due to someone stealing my identity.

how much profit out of each transaction does paypal make?

"Gbuy is believed to be free in the initial testing period, but is expected to charge 1.5 to 2 percent out of each intermediated transaction."
