changing pictures from.bpm to.jpg?

I had some pictures emailed to me & when I go to save them they save as a .bpm file.My picture editing program edits .jpg files.How do I change them to .jpg files?

windows paint can open BMP files... not much editing available though

http://www.eecs.wsu.edu/paint.net/ has alot more editing ability and will allow you to save the bmp as a jpg for editing in a better program

or you could get http://www.gimp.org/ the gimp which is also free...though harder to use (alot closer to photoshop)
