GAAH!!!

I'm having trouble doing ANYTHING with glibc, I can't update it or anything. I want to update it so I can use Wine, but I get 50 messages like "/sbin/ldconfig is needed by (installed) xmms-1.2.10-1"

Is there anything I can to to update Glibc. I have the RPM to update it, but I can't use it.

If I were in your shoes, I would run

rpm --justdb --nodeps -ev <package_name>

and immediately install the newer glibc RPM you have, using --force.

Thanks for the help. I'm a little new with Linux and my dad is out of town, so this site is my only source of help.
