hello there

Im a noobie at computers so here it goes.

I decided to reinstall windows 2000 because of all the recent malware.

I thought I was gonna use linux so i decided to make 2 partitions of each 9.2 gb the total drive is 20.4 gb

I want to make the whole C: drive 20 gigs again. Is this possible without reformatting. I already have important documents I do not want to lose.

It is only possible if you don't mind spending the cost of a new drive for software to do this. I just bought a SATA 250 gig drive on sale for the same price at Best Buy.

There is free partition software you can find on the net but most don't work very well.

yes it is possible but i wouldn't recomend you. if you want to do it any way first back up your files.
i dont know which lunix you want to install (on my Desktop PC i have mandrive which lets you use the live version before you download it.) http://www.mandriva.com/download

eg:(when you download the image.iso CD you restart you windows and inser the lunix CD it will but right from the CD and if you like it and want to install it you can install it and in the procedure it will partionate your hard drive however you choose to.)

Again i do not recommend you becouse you have to little space on the hard drive.
if the probelm is money you must check at CompUSA
