Please answer a few quick questions:
What is the operating system on the computer were working with?
What is the manufacturer and model of the wireless router?
What is the manufacturer and model of the wireless PCI Adaptor?
What type of ISP do you have (DSL, Cable, Dialup)?
and lastly, go to START ans then RUN and type in: ipconfig /all :and hit enter. Please post all the results from this.

What is the manufacturer and model of the wireless router?
INTEL_ ......System model is D845GVA2
What is the manufacturer and model of the wireless PCI Adaptor?
D-LINK Airplus G DWL-G510 Wireless PCI Adapter
What type of ISP do you have (DSL, Cable, Dialup)?

check and see if you can access the router setup page from the wireless.... in your web browsers address bar, type in: 192.168.0.1 :and press enter "without the : :"

i put my wireless ip address in the web browser and i got to my router set up page

then i followed the set up wizard, updated my firmware, typed in my AAPT broadband account and put a WPA security encryption on it

however........
when i connect to my wireless
my internet gateway is still @ 1bps

2. Click on "Run"
3. Type in: devmgmt.msc and hit OK
4. Scroll down to Network adapters and right click on your Network Card
5. Select "Properties"
6. Is there an ADVANCED Tab there?

Since you have re-setup your router if you do another ipconfig, do you still get:
DNS Server: 192.168.0.1
and can you access web pages?

Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1 - - - this is your routers ip address
DNS Server: 192.168.0.1 - - - - - - this should be your ISP's server ip address but it is showing as your router.
In post # 3 you replied to "What is the manufacturer and model of the wireless router?" as follows:
INTEL_ ......System model is D845GVA2
That is a motherboard type not a wireless router. I need the manufacturer and model of your router so i can see check for a manual setup, since your auto setup isn't working right. Please review this diagram so you can see what a router is:
The left picture in this post.
the manufacturer and model number can usually be found on the back or bottom.

the manufactuer is D-link; it is a D-524 802.11g/2.4GHz...........

When i connect to my ethernet - my ip address is 10.1.1.9 and my default gateway is 10.1.1.1 and i am able to get internet through there.......would this be my ISP's server ip address??????
