Hi Everyone :whistling:

On June 27th 2007 a close friend of the family was Killed in Iraq. He was very close to my youngest sister. His name was Daniel Newsome. Dan had a young son, who just recently turned a year. My sister wanted to try to find some way of honoring Dan and giving back something to his son, so she came up with Troop Support Bracelets. 100% of all proceeds go to his son. Take a look at the site http://www.troopsupportbracelets.com/

If you would like to order a bracelet that would be awesome. If you want to give a donation, you can send it to my paypal account (link in my signature) and I will be giving a check to his wife and son, in the name of Geekstogo, the night of the Benefit.

If you don't want to do anything, thats fine to, just tell a soldier thanks next time you see one.

Best wishes,

Hi Excal,

My condolences to you and Daniels family for their loss, it is a hard loss and lives will be changed forever.

I myself have lost men / friends in combat when I served in the Marines; though nothing that is said can ease the pain, I do find some small comfort in a quote from Abraham Lincoln that was written in a letter to Mrs. Lydia Bixby back in 1864 for the loss of her sons.

"I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom."

A. Lincoln, November 21, 1864
