I had roxio but then I uninstalled it. Is there a way to find out if there is something still there from roxio on my cpu?

Hmm...

Let me get a second opinion to see if we can figure out why you are no longer able to burn cds.

Did you delete the stardock folder?

Ok I really didn't know how to work Killbox the first time. But I got it to work. It deleted the files with no problems. But the cd writing bobble in the systray still comes up and tells me that window is disabling the files. I did burn a cd tho with windows media player and it work. I also did windows up date and downloaded all the security stuff. But that didn't work. I downloaded windows media player 10 and it burned a cd.

If there is anything else you can tell me about the systay thing I will do anything.

ThanX!

Run HiJackThis again and check this entry.

F2 - REG:system.ini: UserInit=C:\WINDOWS\System32\Userinit.exe

Then close all open windows and click Fix Checked.

After that, reboot and let me know how things are working.

As for the etrust uninstall, you can just delete the folder and it should rid you of the remains. You may have to do this in safe mode.

Did you go out and pay for norton, or get a trial version?

I am looking into your cd recording issue. Are you sure you followed all the instructions on the microsoft website?

Ok I deleted the folder etrust and it did delete in safe mode. I also Uninstalled Nortons because I got a trial version and used it to see if it could find anything and it did. I delete it and rebooted, but still same bobble in systray. You guys are the best for helping me out with my CPU problem. I did follow all the stuff that the site you gave said to do. It had some stuff but it also had some stuff to do that I didn't have on my CPU. Here is a fresh log from HJT.

ThanX again!
