I think it will be cheaper for 2 gigs since the price is so low and better performance too.

since xp doesnt really take the full 4 gig.


Only 32-bit XP can't fully utilize 4GB of RAM... The 64-bit version can handle it just fine.

Also, I agree with Soorena on getting 2GB instead of 1GB, since the price difference is nearly negligible, it gives your system a little more future-proofing, and even if you use a 32-bit OS, you will still get at least 200MB more RAM to use with 4GB than with 3GB.
