I'm running Windows Vista on a Dell Insprion 530s. Today, my computer started to act very strangely. The monitor screen is black, and the power button alternates from an orange light to a green light. Any sound that was playing before the strange freezing stops. Moving the mouse or typing on the keyboard does nothing, so I am forced to restart the computer. I need to do this every 5-10 minutes.

How can I fix my computer?

EDIT:

I've noticed that if I plug in my monitor directly into the standard slot (instead of my ATI Radeon x1300 slot), the error doesnt happen anymore. Is there something wrong with the cord?

I'm not quite sure what you're asking :)
Your monitor should be plugged in to your PC tower... what am I missing?

Update:

I called Dell Tech Support, and they fixed the problem!! :)

There was something wrong with the graphics drivers I installed. I uninstalled everything and upgraded to the most recent version.
