Good idea...I started over again and did each step in order as per Adobe and all's well now. Somehow Adobe Flashplayer appeared back in my ADD/Remove programs, even though it still "appeared" that it didn't install. Apparently taking the steps in order & rebooting each time cleared the problem.
Thank you very much...once again, saved my sanity. :)
