Hi
I have a similar thing just a slightly different error.

“an I/O error occurred while installing a file. This is normally caused by bad installation media or a corrupt installation file.”

the error happens about 25% the way thought the 1.51 patch. when it get to the pakuo00.pk3 then a few seconds later bang the error pops up.

I have tried all of the above as I thought it sounded like the same thing but nothing worked.

Has an one got any idea how to fix

Thanks

find someone with the non game of the year edition and install codup from there using your cd key.  From all the questions about cod that I have seen I am convinced that the GotY edition has some issues.

If you get an I/O error usually the file you've downloaded is corrupt. Redownload the file from a different location.

Die Hard thanks for the help. I now have to wait for my friend to let me have his copy to try so I will get back to you soon as I have it.

Thing’e’ yep I have tried to redownload it 3 times now and it still gives me the error. plus I then sent it to a friend to try and the patch work fine for him
