Had problems installing my webcam on my system, had to do a System restore then got it working when i reinstalled later

But ever since ive done that, every time i log on or i get an error saying

LVCom Server has stopped working

Windows then tells me this is something to do with logitech driver?

Any idea's?

Yes, that is part of the logitech driver. Have you tried running the latest driver/software for you web cam? Have you tried updating to vista sp1?

The webcam and microphone work fine on MSN which is what i wanted it for, even thoe i have this issue

I have all the recent updartes for vista (as far as i know), How do i tell if i ahve sp1?

if you haven't installed it by choice, then you probably don't have it. It is an optional update. You can check by going to your desktop and right clicking on computer (choose properties).

Also, i have unistalled all the logitech stuff (with add or remove programs.) Deleted the folder left in Program Files (still had 136mb of stuff in it )

But running regedit, there is still some logitech entries in the registry, should i delet the and if so which is the safest way??

Edit: For the sp1, in windows update i have selected view all avalbile updates, and its not there, so does that mean i have it??

Prefetch is clickable for more information

Click start then run, type prefetch then press enter, click edit then select all, (all files will highlight), right click any file, click delete, confirm

Click start then all programmes, accessories, system tools to run disc clean up

Reboot

Click start then all programmes, accessories, system tools to run defragmenter

Download, install and run Tune Up 2007 Trial

Run Tune Up disc clean up

Run Tune Up registry clean up

Disable the anti virus programme then click Optimize and Improve to run Reg Defrag, the screen will lose colour during the process which can take a few minutes and then needs a reboot

Check the anti virus programme is running

Those will have cleared the drive of obsolete software errors

These are suggestions for making the most of the free trial

Click optimize and improve then system optimizer to optimize the computer, select computer with an internet connection from the drop down menu, this also requires a reboot

After the reboot, click optimize then system optimizer to accelerate downloads, select the speed just above your actual connection speed, this requires a reboot.

After the reboot, click optimize then system optimizer to run system advisor

I would install the first optional update and then reboot. Go back and see what other updates are available. IF it is still not showing up, then you have some driver that needs to be updated before vista will allow it to be installed.

You can always download it manually (the full package) and install it. If something doesn't work, then you know which driver to update.

Okay have done What you said in the first post and have just installed Sp1 manually

Shall i just go and resintall the drive now from the logitech website??
