So far so good i have not had any trouble the blue screen has not come up again and the desktop has stayed on and has not crashed yet. I'm kind of afraid to restart the computer thinking it might not come back. After seeing the blue screen for the second i double click on fix.reg again and told it to merge registry thingy and then went into task manager and told it to open up window explorer.exe and the desktop has stayed. For couple of hours the desktop has stayed on the screen and has not crashed yet. I dont know if we have fixed it or not but i'm going to restart the computer and see if the desktop stays and if not then i'm going to put it in safe mode and see how that works. okay! TTYL

Okay Tal i restarted the computer and with out safe mode the computer does not bring the desktop by it'self i have to re-merge the Fix.reg and then tell task manager to force the windows explorer to reopen and then when that occurs the document folder pops open and the desktop stays on put. In safe mode the computer does not have a desktop and the configuration of the icons are to big and cant use the properties to lower the scale down. This is all i know and i'm trying to find that file and the Stop code on the blue screen. However it has not happen in a while so if it does i will record it's content and let you know.

Be safe

OK Kaz, thanks for your replies. I will look over this with some experts to get a second opinion. Meanwhile I'd be glad if you can throw a new DSS log.

Hi Kaz,

Let's see if we can't find the root of this problem. First, double click the registry fix and launch explorer.exe as we did with you in chat. Now, please do the following once the desktop has showed up.

Please download the OTMoveIt2 by OldTimer. Please note: If you already have OTMoveIt on your system, please replace it with this newer version.
  • Save it to your desktop.
  • Please double-click OTMoveIt2.exe to run it. (Vista users, please right click on OTMoveit2.exe and select "Run as an Administrator")
  • Copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose Copy):

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\gfMllnnn.ini2
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\nnnllMfg.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\sed.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\awttrRhI.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddcBTNHB.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\mpfanvqg.dll
    C:\Program Files\Free Offers from Freeze.com
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Kiwee Toolbar2
  • Return to OTMoveIt2, right click in the "Paste List of Files/Folders to be Moved" window (under the light blue bar) and choose Paste.
  • Click the red Moveit! button.
  • A log of files and folders moved will be created in the c:\_OTMoveIt\MovedFiles folder in the form of Date and Time (mmddyyyy_hhmmss.log). Please open this log in Notepad and post its contents in your next reply.
  • Close OTMoveIt2
If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes.

Now, let's make an online scan with F-Secure.

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
This program is for XP and Windows 2000 onlyDouble-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
If you use Firefox browserClick Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
If you use Opera browserClick Opera at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
For Technical Support, double-click the e-mail address located at the bottom of each menu.

Please run the F-Secure Online Scanner

Note: This Scanner is for Internet Explorer Only!
  • Follow the Instruction Here for installation.
  • Accept the License Agreement.
  • Once the ActiveX installs,Click Full System Scan
  • Once the download completes, the scan will begin automatically.
  • The scan will take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan completes, click the Automatic cleaning (recommended) button.
  • Click the Show Report button and Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.

In your next reply, please include a new DSS log, the OTMoveIt log and the F-Secure log.

Okay the blue screen happen again and so i got my laptop and went on word to type it out and this is what it says word from word.

-----------

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

The problem seems to be caused by the following file cwmtdi.sys

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

If this if the first time you’ve seen this Stop error screen restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need.

If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer and press f8 to select Advance Startup options and then select safe mode.

Technical information:

*** STOP: 0x00000050 (0xFEAC0000, 0x00000000, 0xF7776415, 0x00000000)

*** cwmtdi.sys – address F7776415 base at f776c000, Date Stamp 4 64 8eb08

Beginning to dump of physical memory
Physical memory dump complete.
Contact your system administrator or technical support group for further assistance.

----

Okay the code number i do not know if those are Zeros' or Upper Cases o (O's) But i put them as Zero's.

The cwmtdi.sys is the file that says that caused it.

I hope this works...and helps you in anyway.

oh yeah the fix.reg and window thing does not work anymore the desktop still crashes.

1. Please download The Avenger by Swandog46 to your Desktop.
  • Right click on the Avenger.zip folder and select "Extract All..."
  • Follow the prompts and extract the avenger folder to your desktop
2. Copy all the text contained in the code box below to your Clipboard by highlighting it and pressing (Ctrl+C):

Drivers to delete:
cwmtdi

Note: the above code was created specifically for this user. If you are not this user, do NOT follow these directions as they could damage the workings of your system.

3. Now, open the avenger folder and start The Avenger program by clicking on its icon.
  • Right click on the window under Input script here:, and select Paste.
  • You can also click on this window and press (Ctrl+V) to paste the contents of the clipboard.
  • Click on Execute
  • Answer "Yes" twice when prompted.
4. The Avenger will automatically do the following:
  • It will Restart your computer. ( In cases where the code to execute contains "Drivers to Delete", The Avenger will actually restart your system twice.)
  • On reboot, it will briefly open a black command window on your desktop, this is normal.
  • After the restart, it creates a log file that should open with the results of Avenger’s actions. This log file will be located at C:\avenger.txt
  • The Avenger will also have backed up all the files, etc., that you asked it to delete, and will have zipped them and moved the zip archives to C:\avenger\backup.zip.
5. Please copy/paste the content of c:\avenger.txt into your reply.

It works for me, let's try a different scanner...

Please go HERE to run Panda's TotalScan
  • Select the bubble for Full scan
  • It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It may take a couple of minutes)
  • Then the scan will begin
  • When the scan completes, click the Save button on the right of Scan details
  • Save it to a convenient location. Post the contents of the TotalScan report

Hi Kaz. Ignore the above, let's try a different method.

Please save these instructions in a notepad file. You will NOT be able to access them in Safe Mode, where our fix will take place.

Next, please download the attached file. Open it up. Click File > Save As... > Name the file fix.reg > Change the Filetype to All Files. Save the file on your desktop.

Please reboot your computer. As soon as it boots up, continuously tap the F8 key. This will show up a menu: using the arrow keys, choose Safe Mode (not Safe Mode with Networking) and click the Enter key. This will load up Safe Mode; please allow it to load, even if it appears to have been stuck.

Launch fix.reg using the new task feature of the task manager. Click Yes to merge the information with the registry. This should only take a moment.

Now, navigate to the directory where you placed The Avenger.
  • Right click on the Avenger.zip folder and select "Extract All..."
  • Follow the prompts and extract the avenger folder to your desktop
Copy all the text contained in the code box below to your Clipboard by highlighting it and pressing (Ctrl+C):

Files to delete:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddcBTNHB.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\awttrRhI.dll

Note: the above code was created specifically for this user. If you are not this user, do NOT follow these directions as they could damage the workings of your system.

5. Please copy/paste the content of c:\avenger.txt into your reply along with a fresh DSS log (it will only produce main.txt this time) .

Note that when The Avenger reboots, you will be logged in to normal mode. Please include the DSS main.txt log and The Avenger's log.

Let me know if this gets your desktop back up.

Tal.
