Ok my friend on msn has had to use his mum's computer for sometime now, but really wants his computer back on the net again. He had it running fine before, but he got a virus and had to delete some stuff that the virus got to, and reformatted it, he then restarted his windows XP Pro, a clean wipe. But now he can't get back on the net. His ethernet controller not working. His dad has got just bout all cd's needed for the computers so he is stuck. I tried to help him with stuff last night, but nothing worked. He did however get a message saying that he had no network hardware or something like that. What has he done, and what can he do? WE NEED HELP FROM ANYONE PLEASE!!!!!!! I can ask for more info if needed when he is online via his mum's comp again.

Thanks.

By the way his computer is an Acer veriton 5600g if that helps....

Sounds like he needs to reload the drivers. They should be on one of the CD's you mentioned. If you can't get the CD, try the manufacturer's website.
