I have a vista machine with office 2002 installed. I have now purchased office 2007 professional plus for students and before I install wondered if there are any known problems and if I should be uninstalling 2002 first.

Hello,

I have installed Office 2007 Standard and Ultimate on every version of Vista and Server 2008. It works flawlessly. It would be advised to backup your current Office stuff like address books and contact lists and uninstall it first.

Cheers,
Mak

when you say uninstall, do you mean my old office 2002? Also, how do you back up your address book from outlook, and, whilst we're onthat subject, is tere anyway of saving emails in folders on outlook without moving them over to word? Thanks

Hello,

Yes i mean to uninstall Outlook 2002.

I am not to sure on how to back up the data from Outlook 2002. I know that In Office 2007 there is settings for this. Under File there is a Imprt and Export setting which will allow you to backup the data. Not sure if it is available in that version of Outlook.

I am sure that KB article will be of more service to you there than i will.

Cheers,
