It is running TCP/IP and is set up like all the XPs on our network. I can find no difference between it and other machines that are working perfectly.

is it showing offline at the client itself or through system center? If its on the client side, have you tried uninstalling, running the symantec removal tool, and then reinstalling?

It doesn't show as offline at the client.
My next step was going to be remove and reinstall. I was just wondering if there was something I could try before that. Sounds like removing is my best bet.
