When i try to start media player it has the wait thing for like half a second then never does anything, and if i start media center and go to the library it gives me this error "A necessary component of windows media player is not available. please restart windows media center". What do i do. I'm running windows vista home premium and it has worked before. the weird thing is the radio and online content still works.

thanks in advance for any help

PS my windows sidebar widgets don't load properly don't know if there is a correlation.

While Windows Vista Media Player is notorious for getting corrupted, I'd start by downloading a CODEC pack.

also you cant see the mouse when in media center.
Another problem i think is related: I cant click on some things like accept and cancel buttons in real player install and ea download manager doesn't display anything. so i don't necessarily believe it is a problem with media player. picture included

Would a hijack this log help to diagnose the problem?
