I seem to have a problem with web addresses being auto-appended to a "hosts" file (type=File) found in c:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\etc\. I get a msg from WINPATROL periodically, indicating that this file has been changed. When I view its contents, I see 2-20 added lines which appear to be web links that could be advertising or web search related. Every time I edit the file to try and clean it up, it gets almost immediately rewritten to. and I'm not sure what info should be and shoudn't be in the file.

I believe a result of this file modification is that I get random web pages that "appear" on my screen. Rather annoying as you can imagine. How can I stop this? HELP!!
