Never had any trouble until this weekend. It came with Symantec Internet Security installed. The year was about up so I uninstalled Symantec and installed AVG free and Zone Alarm and the problmes started. I have AVG and Zone Alarm on several computers without problems.
Here's what I have so far... HijackThis log file below (wouldn't let me attach)...
- I can't open Task Manager. When I do, the icon shows in the tray but I can't open the window to see processes, etc.
- I can't run System Restore even from the command line. When I try to open it a second time, it says it's already running.
- I can't shotdown or restart. Computer hangs at "Logging off"
- I can't start in Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Network or Safe Mode with Command Prompt
- Hard Drive lilght is almost contantly on
- I booted from Windows Vista CD and was able to restore to a point last week but it was no help - probably infected restore files.
