unable to convert .mod files

So i plug in my video camera into my pc and i try to play the files but it had a .mod file extension i tried to change it into .mpeg but it wont play either video or sound. I also tried downloading multiple files that would help read it but they didnt work either :[

i have my files saved onto the computer but when i tried to play them on the video camera screen it said the file was broken and deleted everything in the memory. D:
