Hi folks,

I don't know if it's a coincidence or not, last night I upgraded my NOD32 AV from 2.x to the latest 3.x version, then today I notice it takes about 30 seconds for my Firefox 3.0.5 and MSN Messenger 8.5 to load/launch.

I tried uninstalling all plugins for Firefox 3.0.5, didn't work; then uninstalled Firefox using Revo Unistaller; did a fresh install, still the same.

Also tried temporarily disabling NOD32 3.x then start launching Firefox 3.0.5 but it still took about 30 seconds.

I'm running out of ideas. This has never happened before I upgraded the AV and I've actually got NOD32 3.x on another computer of mine with Firefox 3.0.5 running but that's fast as lightening. Help.

Thanks

Hi Broni,

Thanks for your reply.

Yep I just tried starting up the computer in Safe Mode with Networking mode and the problem is still there.

Same slow launching time for Firefox and MSN Messenger; whereas it's lightening fast for IE and Yahoo Messenger (in both normal and Safe mode).

Cheers

What happens, if you uninstall NOD altogether?
I assume, you can reinstall it easily, correct?

Yep, launching speed for Firefox and MSN Messenger back to normal after NOD32 3.x was uninstalled.

Hmmm... I do want the latest version for NOD32 as it picks up more threats than 2.x

You may try to post a question at NOD forum, then...

Thank you Broni for your time. I resumed back to NOD32 2.7 and everything's back to normal now.

I might post a question in NOD32 forum.

Funny though, I'm using my other computer right now it's got the latest version of NOD32 and Firefox 3.0.5 but it works fine.

Cheers

You know....not two machines are really identical, even, if they look alike.
