Hi, sasa2k0 :)

Welcome.

You have two antivirus programs.

Anti-Virus programs take up an enormous amount of your computer's resources when they are actively scanning your computer. Having two anti-virus programs running at the same time can cause your computer to run very slow, become unstable and even, in rare cases, crash.

If you choose to install more than one Anti-Virus program on your computer, then only one of them should be active in memory at a time.

There are basically two types of these programs:
On-Access and On-Demand

On-Access Scanners
As the name implies, are scanners that run in the background all the time the PC is turned on and running. The main function of an On-Access scanner is to monitor activity on your machine.

On-Demand Scanners
As the name implies, are scanners that only run when you ask them to such as, Online Scans and scanners that run on your machine but are not actively scanning your machine.

Please re-open HijackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

F2 - REG:system.ini: UserInit=C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe,userinit.exe
O4 - HKUS\S-1-5-18\..\RunOnce: [_nltide_2] regsvr32 /s /n /i:U shell32 (User 'SYSTEM')
O4 - HKUS\.DEFAULT\..\RunOnce: [_nltide_2] regsvr32 /s /n /i:U shell32 (User 'Default user')

Now close all windows and browsers, other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked.

Close Hijackthis.

Download the enclosed folder. Save and extract its contents to the desktop. Once extracted, open the folder and click on the RunMe.bat file. Post the resulting report.

Hi JSntgRvr,

i'm glad to have you here :). Yes i know that 2 AV programs are not welcome in computer, so i did put Avast because i didn't know how to remove the other AV.

Now, i did what you told me to do and situation is still the same, i can only see desktop background after logging into the windows, nothing else.

Is there any difference if i run hijackthis from USB stick?

Here is the report:

I need to see the results of the RunMe.bat in the attachment above.

Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete. The Task Manager should be displayed. Run Explorer.exe as a New Task. Would the desktop appear?

Is there any difference if i run hijackthis from USB stick?

No, at this point. If having problems running the RunMe.bat from the desktop, attempt to run it from the pen drive or save it in the C:\ folder and run it from there.

Sorry, my fault, didn't understand you well, Result.txt says nothing, it's empty.

When i run explorer.exe from Task Manager, message appears that windows cannot find explorer.exe.

If you have another XP machine, copy the file from the C:\Windows folders into the same folder in the troubled computer. I found the enclosed file browsing the Internet. Although it indicates Portuguese as the language, it may work.

Chances are there is a folder labeled Explorer.exe. Lets see if we can run a deep scan:

Download OTScanit2.exe to your Desktop and double-click on it to extract the files. It will create a folder named OTScanit2 on your desktop. OTScanit2 can be detected as malware by your firewall and Ativirus. Chose Ignore on any warning alert.
  • Close any open browsers.
  • Open the OTScanit2 folder and double-click on OTScanit2.exe to start the program.
  • Leave all settings as they appear as default, except for the following:
  • Under Drivers, select "All".
  • Under Rootkit Search, select Yes
  • Under additional Scan select the following:
    • Reg - ControlSets
    • Reg - Disabled MS Config Items
    • Reg - File Associations
    • Reg - Security Center Settings
    • Reg - Tcpip Persistent Routes
  • Now click the Run Scan button on the toolbar.
  • The program will be scanning huge amounts of data so depending on your system it could take a long time to complete. Let it run unhindered until it finishes.
  • When the scan is complete Notepad will open with the report file loaded in it.
  • Save that notepad file
Use the Reply button and attach the notepad file here (Do not copy and paste in a reply, rather attach it to it).

Hi JSntgRvr,

Chances are there is a folder labeled Explorer.exe. Lets see if we can run a deep scan:

i can't find folder with that name.

Scan result is in attachment.

Hi, sasa2k0 :)

Looking at your system now, one or more of the identified infections is a backdoor Trojan.

These are the most dangerous, and most widespread, type of Trojan. Backdoor Trojans provide the author or ‘master’ of the Trojan with remote ‘administration’ of victim machines. Unlike legitimate remote administration utilities, they install, launch and run invisibly, without the consent or knowledge of the user. Once installed, backdoor Trojans can be instructed to send, receive, execute and delete files, harvest confidential data from the computer, log activity on the computer and more.

If this computer is ever used for on-line banking, I suggest you do the following IMMEDIATELY:
  • Call all of your banks, credit card companies, financial institutions and inform them that you may be a victim of identity theft and to put a watch on your accounts or change all your account numbers.
  • From a clean computer, change ALL your on-line passwords for email, for banks, financial accounts, PayPal, eBay, on-line companies, any on-line forums or groups you belong to.
Do NOT change passwords or do any transactions while using the infected computer because the attacker will get the new passwords and transaction information. Please refrain from using this computer for online-banking/financial purpose until we give it all clear.

Please download ComboFix from Here or Here to your Desktop.

**Note: In the event you already have Combofix, this is a new version that I need you to download. It is important that it is saved and renamed following this process directly to your desktop**
  • If you are using Firefox, make sure that your download settings are as follows:
    • Tools->Options->Main tab
    • Set to "Always ask me where to Save the files".
  • During the download, rename Combofix to Combo-Fix as follows:

    Posted Image

  • It is important you rename Combofix during the download, but not after.
  • Please do not rename Combofix to other names, but only to the one indicated.
  • Close any open browsers.
  • Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

    -----------------------------------------------------------

    • Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before performing a scan. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results".
    • Click on this link to see a list of programs that should be disabled. The list is not all inclusive. If yours is not listed and you don't know how to disable it, please ask.

      -----------------------------------------------------------

    • Close any open browsers.
    • WARNING: Combofix will disconnect your machine from the Internet as soon as it starts
    • Please do not attempt to re-connect your machine back to the Internet until Combofix has completely finished.
    • If there is no internet connection after running Combofix, then restart your computer to restore back your connection.

    -----------------------------------------------------------

  • Double click on combo-Fix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it will produce a report for you.
  • Please post the "C:\Combo-Fix.txt" along with a new HijackThis log for further review.
**Note: Do not mouseclick combo-fix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall**

Hi JSntgRvr,

there is few things that i didn't tell you, first is that all this reply's are from my desktop computer, laptop is the one that i have problem with.

So, all software is downloaded on my desktop computer and then with USB stick i run them on my laptop, after i copy them on laptop.

Now let's continue with the work :), i can't see quick launch so i tried to turn off both AV's trough services menu in my computer(properties>manage>...).

After that i tried to run Combo-Fix.exe and message appeared that this software is only for Win2000 or XP. :)

:)

Hi, sasa2k0 :)

Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to bring the task manager. Run devmgmt.msc as a New Task. Select View from the Menu, then "Show hidden Devices". Expand "Non Plug and Play Drivers". Right click on the TDSSserv.sys driver if present and select Properties, Stop and Disable this driver. You will be asked to restart the computer. Select No at this time.

If Combo-fix was copied into your desktop, run the following as a New Task:

%Userprofile%\Desktop\Combo-fix.exe /Killall (There is a space between .exe and /killall)

Let me know the outcome.

If still receiving an error message, attempt to perform this in Safe Mode.

To enter Safe Mode follow these steps:

  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
  • Choose your usual account.

Hi JSntgRvr,

Without /killall it runs but with OS error message.
