this happens sometimes when two device drivers are in conflict...did she install anything? (seems unlikely).
I'm not certain how I can help under these conditions (through an intermediary).
What I would likely do is rename the autoexec.bat and config.sys in dos (with a dos boot disk)
and edit the system.ini file using the EDIT dos command to remove third party devices (*.sys) files...but not ALL of them--just the ones I do not recognize
