That looks correct.
Then...
Go File>Save As, and save AutoRuns.txt file
Again, make sure, the dialog looks like this:

ok i did once again what you asked. i saved it exactly how you wanted me to save it as a .txt. i am attaching a screen shot that shows on the left side that it is a txt file, and on the right that it is 4.19mb. i dont knwo what else to do

Did you try to open it with Notepad? Still garbage characters?

yes, when i open it with note pad all i see is those weird characters

Download, install, and run Whats Running.
Click on Take snapshot in the left pane.
New pop-up window will open.
Click on Save snapshot, and save the file as snap (.xml extension will be added automatically) to know location.
