Hi this is my son's computer it is a little over a year and a half old. He spends a lot of time on it playing World of Warcraft. He is having a problem that it is giving him this message Windows has experanced an error and is shutting down to prevent damage to your computer.

I came on to this forum and had entered BCCcode a and found where someone was getting the codes I had found on his computer so I did what was sugested and I removed Norton useing the Norton removal tool and I paid for the full version of AVG and instaled it on his computer. I had found this to start with.

Additonal info about the problem

BCC code a

BCP1 00000060
BCP2 0000001B
BCP3 00000001
BCP4 824B3C13

OS VERSION 6-0-6001
SERVICE PACK 1-0
PRODUCT 768-1

c:windows\minidump\Mini050409-02.dmp
C;\Users\Matthew obb\AppData\Local\Temp\Wer-72836-0.sysdata.xml
C:\User\Matthew obb\AppData\Local\Temp\werf70A.Temp.Verson.txt

I have done a system restore two times and both times it suggest that I restore it before the downlode update of windows. I do such and then the computer starts working again and then it does the shut down again after it has been used for a while.

When the blue screen comes up when turning it on and it will not boot to desktop I have then done the reset and then it comes to desk top. Not sure what is going on. Can you help?
Thanks

Please, post some computer info:
- processor type, amount of RAM (hold Windows logo key, hit Pause/Break key)
- hard drive size/free space (open "My Computer", right click on hard drive letter, click "Properties")

Navigate to: C:\Windows\Minidump folder.
If you see any .dmp files, zip all of them, and attach zipped file to your next reply.

OK here is what you asked for did the best I could

Processor type: AMD Athlon ™ 64x2 Dual core Processor 4800+

Amount of RAM: 3.00 GB
Hard drive size: HPC 151 GB Free Factory Image D 1.20 GB free

Windows Vista home premium 32 bit operation system

I tried to get the Mini dump files but I could not. I clicked on computer and then on C drive. I saw where it had a file folder called mini dump and I clicked on it. It showed that there were a total of 6 files. When I tried to open them or tried to zip them it would not let me. I clicked on the help that came up telling me that I could search the Internet for help opening it. It came up saying that if I could not open a dmp file that it ws due to registry problems and it told me to scan my registry for problems. it had me download RegCure and it scanned it saying I had 1127 problems and that it could only fix 1 of them and that if I wanted the rest fixed then I needed to pay them 39.95 for them to do it. I did not do this found out the hard way that they say you have all these problems just to get you to pay the money when in truth you don't have the problems at all. So any suggestions on how to open or zip these files to send to you?

To zip a file...
Download, and install 7-zip: http://www.7-zip.org/
Right click on a file, you want to zip.
Click 7-zip, then Add to archive.
Click on drop-down menu, next to Archive format, and select zip format.
Click OK.
You'll find zipped file (.zip extension) in the same folder as the original file.

I tried to take ownership and it says that I have it but when I try to open it keeps saying access denied. I have gone onto the Microsoft web sight and I did a complete update to the computer and then I clicked on control panel and saw where it had system check for errors and opened it. It had blue screen and I opened it. It says I am having a driver issues and suggested I uninstall any new instantiations. I have had no new installations but have been having a problem with the HP printer from day one. So I opened a chat box with HP and they sent me a new printer driver that is compatible with Vista. I downloaded it. The computer is working a bit better but it is still shutting down just not as often. Any suggestions as to why I can't get this to open or to zip it?

Copy .dmp files, and save them to some other folder. Zip them there.

There is a whole bunch of various errors:

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL @ ntkrpamp.exe (4 times)
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL @ dxgkrnl.sys
MEMORY_MANAGEMENT @ memory_corruption
MULTIPLE_IRP_COMPLETE_REQUESTS @ ks.sys
KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M @ ntkrpamp.exe
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL @ hardware_ram

So I suspect RAM problem.

Since you have 3GB installed, I believe, you have more than 1 RAM stick.
Try to operate the computer with 1 stick of RAM at a time, and see what happens.
