unable to boot windows xp cd in vista ultimate

hello
i have a problem with my friend's born problematic desktop which is in vista.
so i want to downgrade it back to xp.
i already set up the boot sequence in the bios menu
but when the computer turn on ... it cannot boot windows xp cd
i try everything i know and still cant figure it out
someone can help me ?

Have you set the CD-ROM to the first boot device in the BIOS?

Howdy and welcome to GTG:

1: Have you made sure there are drivers, etc available for that system once you downgrade? Many manufacturers are using "Vista only" hardware on their systems now.

2: Do you realize that by downgrading you may be voiuding any warranty?

3: What are you using for an XP cd?
