Can you tell us the make and model of the mic.
If it is a file required by the mic, it should get installed with any software required by the mic.

Do you have SP3 installed? If not, then please install it and re run the new hardware wizard.
Look here: http://www.logitech....cl=us,en?osid=1
No additional drivers are needed. Is this your mic?

Go To:
Start and then to Run
Type in sndvol32.exe and press Enter
If Microphone is not in the list then click on Options and then on Properties

Now click on the Advanced Button and in the new window click the Mic Boost box so it is not checked.

If it only happens in counterstrike, maybe there is a microphone sensitivity option in the game's configuration options.
