I've not bought anything for ages so I've no clue what the cheapest places to buy hardware are these days.

Not sure since I'm in Australia, the best option would be to finalise a single option through research, then look up multiple sales sites to see the prices. Otherwise if you start searching for multiple graphics cards through multiple sites, you'll never reach a conclusion.
Tom's Hardware post a graphics card list each month I like to use as a guide. Here is a favourite as of right now as I am posting. Check out the last page, the hierarchy.

some vid cards
they also do online and postal (by courier)

As a general in the UK I either use Ebuyer or Yoyotech
Both a brilliantly quick and cheap. For example I ordered some RAM of ebuyer and chose free delivery which is 3-5 working days and somehow it arrived the next day
Scan is also a good place to buy from but I would check their prices as they can sometimes be on the higher end.
