I recently got hold of a vista laptop and began to install games on it, i have a problem with one folder i installed onto the desktop. I cant move it, and i wish to put it in another folder on the desktop. I have made sure that i am the owner/administrator of the folder etc etc and have tried to move it using takeown on the cmd window. Nothing i do seems to work, and its such a simple thing! Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Ensure that you have full control of that folder by using the ICACLS or CACLS on the command prompt, this will enable you to edit the permissions. For more help on how to use this then run cmd and type HELP ICACLS or HELP CACLS.

Usually CACLS is deprecated, if so use ICACLS.

I have no experience with LockHunter as mentioned by Broni, but I have used Unlocker (http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/) and have had success with everything I needed to have it do.

Edit: After checking out LockHunter, I suggest you try it first. Think I am going to switch to it too. Thanks Broni.
