I want to run HiJackThis now and like I said, whenever you get a chance do the other ones. You do not have to do them now. :tazz: Just make sure that computer gets disconnected from the Internet until they need it!

Well that's a much prettier log! I need to go to bed now, but the computer is definitely usable for in the morning! Here are the next steps:

Run HiJackThis. Place a check next to the following items and click FIX CHECKED:

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page =

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

O2 - BHO: Class - {3C10C0AA-0C44-95D1-E182-AF24B1C2ED83} - C:\WINNT\system32\appan.dll

Close HiJackThis.

Then whenever you get a chance I need you to do this (but don't do anything with HiJackThis until I review it again!):

1. Ok i just want to make sure im ok here. I ran HJT and it didnt find the first 1 you specified, but the second 2 were there & i checked and fixed them. I then ran another HJT scan, but didnt check or fix anything ( was that OK ???)

2. If it is OK im going to wait till after we close again 10pm to do the Ewido and ActiveScan and run HJT ( but only to get a log, not to check or fix anything)

Am i on the right path?

And again Thank You.

Ah, yes, I see CWS is back in full force! :tazz:

I need you to disable Microsoft Anti-Spyware:

To disable the program, follow the instructions below:
1.) Right click on the Microsoft Antispyware tray icon (a little red and yellow circle looking thing)
2.) Click on Security Agents Status (Enabled)
3.) Click on Disable Real-time Protection.

I need you to delete this whole folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Favorites\Sites about

Then I need you to delete these URLs out of favorites:

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Favorites\Search the web.url
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Favorites\Only sex website.url
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Favorites\Seven days of free [bleep].url

Ewido helped out A LOT!

Make sure you are disconnected from the Internet and that all programs and windows are closed. Run HiJackThis and place a check next to the following items and click FIX CHECKED:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = res://C:\WINNT\glaff.dll/sp.html#14044
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = res://C:\WINNT\glaff.dll/sp.html#14044
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = about:blank
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = res://C:\WINNT\glaff.dll/sp.html#14044
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = res://C:\WINNT\glaff.dll/sp.html#14044
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = res://C:\WINNT\glaff.dll/sp.html#14044
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = res://C:\WINNT\glaff.dll/sp.html#14044
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = res://C:\WINNT\glaff.dll/sp.html#14044
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

O2 - BHO: Class - {BE28F4DA-50BB-3475-6F55-FCD289F30927} - C:\WINNT\system32\nethy.dll (file missing)

Close HiJackThis. Delete this file, if found:

C:\WINNT\glaff.dll

Go to Start->Run and type "Services.msc" (without quotes) then hit Ok
Scroll down and find the service called:

Network Security Service (or 11Fßä#·ºÄÖ`I)

When you find it, double-click on it. In the next window that opens, click the Stop button, then click on properties and under the General Tab, change the Startup Type to Disabled. Now hit Apply and then Ok.

Open HiJackThis, click on "None of the above, just start the program". Now, click on the "Config" button (bottom right), then click on "Misc Tools", then click on "Delete an NT Service" a window will pop up. Enter the below item into that field (copy & paste!):

11Fßä#·ºÄÖ`I

*IMPORTANT NOTE* Make sure there is a SPACE before the first "1" otherwise it won't work!

Click OK.

It should pull up information about the service, then ask if you want to reboot. Click YES.

Post a new HiJackThis log after it reboots.

That just got added because it was not on your last log! yes, please fix it and then look to see if it's C:\WINNT - if found delete it as well.

(Make sure you can view hidden files as both of those may be hidden)

Quick question ? i didnt find the xgmyl.dll in WINNT/ but there was a peculiar looking file at the very end of the C:/WINNT folder. Its file name was a square...... an actual square shape, is this common ??

About:blank still loads when i click on internet explorer ( tho the page is completly blank, I think we gutted it :tazz: )

A square, huh? Interesting. Right click on it and tell me what it says about the file (and the size of it).

Hate it when it logs me out I was just done ,well here it goes again

When u look at the file it has a picture of" a flying window with the four colors in it" It is 22bytes and 32KB on disc, it was created on April 6 2004 and last used today. there are actually 2 of them 1 at the begging of the alphabet 1 at the end of the C/WINNT folder. It doesnt have an extension Like all the other files of its kind , EXCEpt for 1 called "DatabaseID" ( without the quotes)
