Hi im new to this site i need help with my call of duty server. its hosted at home. it can be seen on the internet but when i connect to it i have conection interupted a cant play can anyone help pls pls pls

the first thing is you realy should read the other posts first , i know this thread is long but there is some ussful info.

ok obout the internet visibility its kind simple to exsplain and a bit harder to help....
i never made it to internet


the trick is that you probably have a ruter or firewall,you should turn off the firewall or configure it to open surten ports>>>>>mine is 28960
obout the ruter you have to find the box and read witch ruter you have and then find it on this site
klick here!!!!!
and learn obout ports static ip and stuff like that.


to make it a bit eazyer for you its like this....
when you host a server you will have to recive info and diliver info to players connected
but for players to be connected you have to make your ip visible to internet by opening the DMZ on your ruter (try googling DMZ) if not there is a nother way witch is port forwarding.
by opening ports players will be able to connect through a surten way better said trough the port....

yea ive open ports already people connect early today but now on my server the germans gun has dissapeard and i lagg and cant play? how can it work earlyer but not now? I used PortFoward.com to open my ports i open 20500, 28960 and 20510. Im using the 20500 on my server. is it because im using the wrong port?

obout the lag its probably just your connection.
how many player do you wish to host on your server ?????????
obout the guns you just make a nother cfg file and thats it cuz cfg files that i made were sometimes broken try using this site its realy helpful!!!!!!!!

now a nother thing if you have msn it would be cool if you would give me your e mail so we could comunicate faster!!!!!!!!
by the way you should realy check your posts once in a while!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hey, i did the forwarding port thing and the dedicated.cfg in the main folder of cod and i copied on the shotcut but wen i clik start new server, nothing happenes....so can someone plz help me out on seeting up the server...and one more thing...i cant even c the server on my local list so plz tell me wats wrong thnks....

right i have a problem.
i've set up my server (i am using a seperate server computer too) and have set up a pure internet server.
it seems to be running fine.
i have forwarded all the ports listed for my router at www.portforward.com in my router settings.
i have tried connecting to it on my gaming computer.
no luck.
i tried getting my mate connected to it.
no luck.
i havent a clue why itwontwork any more, i have racked my brains trying to think of ways to make it work.
if anyone out there can help, it would be amazingly appreciated, i need this server for my new clan.

if there is a man that can help its jerm20,but he left this forum long ago
so ill try to help !!!
i helped a few guys to set the server up and i did well
but there is one thing i hate !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
