Windows Movie Maker won't work right

ok
i open it just fine and everything appers to be workin right but then i open a project or put 1 or 2 clips on the story line and it just stops, sometimes it freezes for a second or 2 and then just shuts its self off.

i don't have any idea how to handle this so i hope some one here can help
