Hi!

I have succesfully installed windows 7 ultimate on my Hp Pavillion dv6730 eo laptop, but now I have a big problem. I can't listen to music (or any sound at all) from my speakers or any other device like earphones. a friend told me it was because of the drivers to the soundcard, so i downloaded them. but the problem was, that i couldn't find any driver that worked for Windows 7, but i tried to download the vista edition, and it still won't work.
please help me out here! :)

ps. sorry for the bad english, if it is bad.

from Thomas Christiansen, Denmark.

Can you figure out what type of sound card it is? Is it a realtek?

Please Go to
1: STARTand the click on RUN
2: Type in devmgmt.msc
3: Click Enter

To do a screenshot please have click on your Print Screen on your keyboard. It is normally the key above your number pad between the F12 key and the Scroll Lock key
Now go to Start and then to All Programs
Scroll to Accessories and then click on Paint
In the Empty White Area click and hold the CTRL key and then click the V
Go to the File option at the top and click on Save as
Save as file type JPEG and save it to your Desktop

Check speaker connection to back of system
Check volume control in windows by doing the following:
Go to Start and The Run
Type in sndvol32.exe and press Enter
Make sure Master Volume is not muted and turned up
Check Cd Player volume is not muted and turned up

I'm sorry if I made it sound like you were stupid as this is not my intentions.
I don't know what your expertise is so I give instructions based on that.
Let me know if you would like to continue or I can get another tech to help.
