Hi

Very often when I use the explorer (IE 8), upon closing I receive the attached and wonder why this is happening. I have never recvd anything to the effect that a solution is available.
It is most annoying and there must be a problem why this happening.
Any idea as to what might possibly be causing this irregularity appreciated. Is there a fix?

Possibly, some add-on is messing things up. Toolbars are pretty notorious culprits.
Close IE.
Go Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools, and click on Internet Explorer (no add-ons). Same thing?

Hi

When I carry out your instructions, I do not find Internet Explorer within Systems Tools. Is that unusual or am I doing something incorrectly? Awaiting

It is rather unusual.

Try to uninstall IE8. It'll revert itself to IE7.
To do this, go Start>Control Panel>Programs & Features
Click on "View installed updates" in left pane.
Find "Windows Internet Explorer 8" (it should be listed somewhere in the middle of year 2009)
Click on it, click "Uninstall".

Hi Broni

I do not appear to be finding ''Windows Internet Explorer 8'' any place within the area which you indicated. What I do know is that I did uninstall IE 8 before WIn 7 was installed. At that stage my system was Vista and it automatically reverted to IE 7.
I am led to understand that with Win 7 IE 8 is somewhat difficult to uninstall (??? !!!)
Not finding exactly the area to which you refer, it is t/fore not possible to do the uninstall as you indicated.

Once again must inquire if I might be doing something incorrectly.
Apologies for being a nuisance.

Oh, you didn't say, you're with Windows 7.

I suggest that you start a new topic in the Malware Removal and Spyware Removal area.

Before you start a new topic click on this link --> Malware and Spyware Cleaning Guide, Please read before starting a new topic. This will give you a few preparations to make, as well as instruction for posting your OTListIt2 log.

If you are still having problems after being given a clean bill of health from the malware expert, then please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).

You can also mange add-ons in IE by going to ‘tools’ and ‘manage add-ons’. Disabling any unnecessary add-ons may help resolve the issue.

Hi Broni / Fernann_ie8team

Thank you both for latest input. Latest situation as follows:

Hi Broni, before receiving your last input decided to reinstall IE 8 from disc which I had downloaded before, because read somewhere that it was not going to be incorporated as part of the package.
Before going thru procedure of uninstalling I did a reset and t/after uninstalled. Proceeded to reinstall using downloaded disc. Upon completion of installation, tried the explorer and up until now no irregularities experienced which has led me to think that all is well once more.
In view of this I have decided to delay carrying out proceduries suggested by Broni which I trust is Ok. If situation does recur will put them in motion and start a new thread.

Since receiving suggestion from Fernann_ie9team I also checked out add-ons and found that only three in total are enabled whereas before were several enabled. This could very well have been the cause of my problems.

Thanks guys for your help
