DELL Inspirion 531s Windows Vista Home Premium SP #2

Recentlly uploaded AOL 9.0 SE on Vista, and everything seemed to go fine, but whenever I sign off, I keep getting a message saying do not turn off machine its installing updates. Okay, i've seen this message when I was using XP periodocally, but the process went through quickly and no problems. But with Vista, it seems to be everytime I sign off I'm getting this updating message, and it literally takes about an hour for the update to go through. I've uninstalled, and re-installed the software, but when I sign off its the same problem all over again. Being a long time AOL customer this is very strange, so my question is should I be using a higher Version of AOL with Vista?

Thanks in Advance..
