'Rorsachach112' sent me here to explain my situation,

I have a patched C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\tdx.sys file,
after using the google redirect solution I now have no sound in my browser (Safari) for anything including youtube etc.

Help? :)

How To Fix:
  • Go to START-->RUN and type regedit to open the Registry Editor
  • Navigate to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32
  • Now right-click on the heading Drivers32 and select NEW-->STRING VALUE.
  • Call this new String Value wavemapper.
  • Now double-click the wavemapper entry you just created and for the VALUE field, type in msacm32.drv and click OK.
  • Close the Registry Editor and try watching a video on youtube again.

I had him try that earlier and this was his reply

I can get as far as making the string value, but when it comes to renaming it wavemapper, this message comes up : The Registry Editor cannot rename New Value#1. The specified value name already exists. Type another name and try again.

I tried different names but this error message still comes up.

May be a setting within the browser itself that has changed. I'm not familiar with Safari so I'm not sure if there is a way to run it without addons like in IE and Firefox.

Found this in my research and it seems to have resolved the issue for both Safari and Firefox.

Just close all open browsers, open Garage Band, fiddle around with a track for a moment, save and return to your browser. Youtube videos will then play with audio. Just had this problem for a second time - and this trick has worked again

Also - forgot to mention - I have discovered some other problems.
I can not change my laptop background.
Sound is now not working anywhere on my computer, not even audio files or system sounds.

Nothing is muted.

OK then I need to see what the Audio Properties show as your default audio device.
Go to Start and then to Control Panel
Right click on the Sound or Audio Devices and then click on Properties
At the top of the window click on Audio and what does it say for Default Audio Device?
Click on Playback and same information?

Check speaker connection to back of system
Check volume control in windows by doing the following:
Go to Start and The Run
Type in sndvol32.exe and press Enter
Make sure Master Volume is not muted and turned up
Check Cd Player volume is not muted and turned up

On Vista go to Start and then to Search
Then follow the rest of the instructions from there.
