Hi

I'm really pulling my hair out over this one. I reformatted the laptop of a friend but forgot to make a recovery disk. Anyhow, after it all booted up again, i cannot get it to connect to any wireless networks. The network icon is not in the taskbar and it looks as if the laptop has no wireless capabilites whatsoever. I'm really confused and need to get this fixed.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Since the formatting will have wiped all the device drivers off the hard drive, you will need to re-install the driver for the wireless controller. The laptop manufacturer will have all the drivers on it's support web pages.

I suspected as much, thank you for the assistance. I'll post back with results.

Hi, i'm stumped again. I have no idea which drivers i need to get hold of. I called up Gateway, the manufacturers of my laptop, and the guy was spectacularly unhelpful.

Any ideas?

What's your model of your computer?

If you don't know click Start > right click My Computer > Properties
