My wireless switch isnt working

I have a TOshiba satellite laptop running on windows 7. When I tried to connect to my home wireless connection it says the wireless switch is turned off, but when I looked at the switch its turned on. Also when I try to turn it off and on again, the picture doesnt't light up or nothing changes on the computer screen.

Please help!
