Hey Peter
I don't have a clear picture yet, what's going on here, so I want to check "ping" and then I want to ask him for a copy of ipconfig /all as you requested.

I suspect, he may have a connection, but something may be blocking it in normal mode, or he may even have a connection in normal mode, but simply browsers won't open any page (security program as a culprit, or some infection).

Cool :)
Apparently, we do have some connection.
Kind of glitchy, but it's there.

Let's take a look at your ipconfig settings...

Go Start>Run ("Start search" in Vista), type in:
cmd
Click OK (hit Enter in Vista).

At Command Prompt, paste this:
ipconfig /all>c:\ipconfig_all.txt&notepad c:\ipconfig_all.txt&exit
Hit Enter.

Copy and paste what you see in Notepad into a Reply here.

OK, then. I wasn't sure, but...

I suggest that you start a new topic in the Malware Removal and Spyware Removal area.

Before you start a new topic click on this link --> Malware and Spyware Cleaning Guide, Please read before starting a new topic. This will give you a few preparations to make, as well as instruction for posting your OTListIt2 log.

If you are still having problems after being given a clean bill of health from the malware expert, then please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).
