Hi, having an itunes nightmare! Have itunes installed, runs great with 2 ipods. Got an iphone4 and tells me I need version 10. Won't install it, try just downloading it, then installing and stops saying 'stopping apple mobile device processes'. Have emptied the temp folder, still dosen't install. Have now tried uninstalling itunes and get the message 'please wait while windows configures itunes' and nothing happens for hours! Really baffled and getting hacked off with the whole thing! Please help

Same happened to me before. First off, go to http://www.apple.com/itunes. Then, download iTunes 10. If you download it, iTunes 10 will overwrite the old iTunes during install, and then it will (hopefully) install iTunes 10.

itunes nightmare,

Please provide a screenshot so I can see what kind of message display is it.

Step 1. For Desktops Hit the prt sc/print scr button on your keyboard.

For Laptops/Netbook Hit the fn key and print sc/prt sc button at the same time.

Step 2. After, please open Paint and hit CTRL and V at the same time, or go to edit, and paste the image.

Step 3. Remove things not needed, I only need the message box and/or the iTunes install window.

Step 4. After removing, click File, and Save as, iTunes Photo. Save the image to your desktop to make it easy to find.

Step 5. Attach the image to your next post.

Hmm, this looks like we need a full reinstall of Apple products.

Please uninstall any Apple Products and reinstall iTunes 10 again. See what happens.

In case your worried that you are not able to recover some Apple Programs, please back them up to a CD.
