Hi, I recently got rid of a Google redirect browser hijacker trojan, but still have a lingering effect that started happening when I first noticed the spyware. My HP laptop's touchpad (driven by Synaptics) seems to randomly freeze, but always freezes when I try to scroll with it or move it too fast. I have run multiple spyware and malware scans, ccleaner and the kaspersky online scan and haven't found anything; the problem persists. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Go to the HP website http://welcome.hp.co...en/support.html

Type in your laptop model and download the synaptics touchpad driver.
It might be as well to first remove existing driver in Device Manager before installing new one.

Hi Phillip,

I uninstalled my Synaptics driver and get this message when I try to install the new one:

Then upon closing it I get this:

For what it's worth, I occasionally get Windows permission errors related to rundll32.exe too, sometimes when I start Windows or try to change a program's settings

I apologize for double posting, but I think it's important to note I've been experiencing cursor jumping every now and then, I'll be typing then all of a sudden the cursor is a few lines up and I'm typing on lines I've already written.

EDIT: I think it may have to do with uninstalling the synaptics driver. But alas here I am stuck unable to reinstall it.

EDIT again: OK now I have accidentally deleted my Recycle Bin... and when I go to Personalize and click 'Change desktop icons' it gives me a permissions-related Windows error message with rundll32.exe in the title bar. I have a feeling all of these symptoms are rooted in one central cause, but who knows.

Any further help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.
