Thank you again.

Your welcome. :D

I will do that later in the week but i did clean up the desktop & uninstalled what we installed.

Okay.

Is Firefox secure? I installed that & have him running on it instead now.

For the most part yes Firefox is secure. There are some browser infections that do target Firefox.

1/ Should i change my Firefox Browser to Google Chrome? I like some of the add-ons that Firefox has such as ebay sniper

Deciding whether to use Firefox or Chrome is more of a personal choice. If Firefox works for you then by all means use it. Just make sure that you keep it updated.

2/ Should i cancel/delete/uninstall my Avast! Pro edition & just use the Free Microsoft Security Essentials? ( i like Avast! as it doesn't seem to slow the PC down & has only let me down once in 5 or 6 years)

If Avast Pro edition works for you then, you should keep it.

The ATF cleaner you suggest looks like something good, is that better than 'ccleaner' ?

ATF Cleaner is somewhat similar to CCleaner. The major difference being with ATF Cleaner it doesn't have as much flexibility as you have with CCleaner.
