Hello Cretemonster! :tazz:

Thank you so much for all your help with my computer.
I'm sorry it's taken so long to reply but there are still problems..

but not to worry! I'm going to get a new computer... I have decided.

1) Effectively, he printer problem hasn't been resolved.
2) I reckon 40% of start-ups now end up with a frozen screen before the desktop appears
3) While logged on, Explorer often shuts down certain files and throws up eror messages
4) While surfing, IExplore will often shut down pages and occasionally kick me off the Internet.

Oh joy!
Still, this computer is now 4 years old -- it's time for an upgrade.

Once again, many thanks and all the best...
Neil

Allrighty,Found what I was looking for!

There are 2 regfixes I want you to use to be sure all the bogus registry entries are Set back to Normal!

First one is to reset the Run Services Key
http://www10.brinkst...st/Win98Fix.zip

This one covers a variety of different fixes, repairing some permissions!
http://lineofire.gee...rviceremove.zip

After you have downloaded them,be sure to extract all files!

Double Click the Reg file inside each and allow ot to merge with the registry!

Next, because I allready know from you HijackThis log, that Spybot is damaged, there may be others as well!

Use this link to check for and replace each of the files listed!
http://www.spywarein...n/winfiles.html

Get all of those and Overwrite the files you have tobe sure that a good one is in place!

Let me know if that helps any at all!
