NEXT:

SFC ScanNow

Go to the Run box on the Start Menu and type in:

sfc /scannow

Make sure to include the space between the first "c" and the "/".

This will run the System File checker and it will scan for corrupt or missing files. It may prompt you to insert the CD if it needs to obtain files.

Please post back when it has finished letting me know what it has reported.

When you perform the sfc /scannow scan it will probably prompt you to insert the disc. When it does, please insert your disc

If they aren't in the Malware forum, then they usually don't get closed.

After the SFC /scannow scan is done yes, you can remove them from Add/Remove programs.

Then you can run this Norton Removal tool:

Remove Norton Tool

ONLY if you don't have an active subscription, use below link to uninstall Norton.

Please click HERE and follow the instructions to download and run the Norton Removal Tool for your own version.

It is strongly recommended that you run only one anti-virus program at a time. Having more than one anti-virus program active in memory uses additional resources and can result in program conflicts and false virus alerts.

hmm... very interesting. Is it telling you which files need to be copied to the dllcache?

I'm not too sure what we can do if it's asking you to insert a XP Professional disc.
