This fix is a little drastic, but solves most iTunes connection problems. Try deleting your user preference file for iTunes. You want to make a backup of the original file before deletion.

Keep in mind that you will lose all iTunes preferences, but you can put back the original file if it doesn't work. If it does, you'll have to recreate any and all preferences you have set.

Close iTunes

Navigate to C:\Users\InsertUserNameHere\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunesPrefs.xml

I don't know your username, so you'll need to substitute it for the part above where I have "InsertUsernameHere". Once you find that file, you'll want to make a copy first, delete the original and restart iTunes. iTunes will automatically recreate the iTunesPrefs.xml file when you reopen iTunes

If that doesn't work, just close iTunes, and overwrite the new file with the old one you made a backup of earlier.

I can go to C:users/user name or public but there is no more after that pertaining to the app data / roaming etc.
What else?

I'm assuming that it's a hidden file if you aren't seeing it in your %Username% folder.

Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Appearance and Personalization -> Folder Options. Then click on the View Tab and you'll see an Advanced Section. Check the radio button next to "Show hidden files and folders" and uncheck the box that says "Hide Protected Operating System Files". Then press OK.

See if you can access the folder now. Just make sure you put everything back when you are done, so you don't accidentally delete something you shouldn't. :D

Can you verify something for me while I continue to research your issue? Please go to Start -> Control Panel -> Internet Options and then click on the Connections Tab. Then click on LAN Settings and verify there is not a checkmark in either the box that says "Automatically Detect" or "Use a Proxy". If there is, please clear the check boxes and try to reconnect to the iTunes store.

You're iTunes diagnostics shows that you aren't using a proxy connection, but I want to be sure.

If that doesn't work, please download HostsXpert and save to a location you remember, such as your desktop. Double click on the .ZIP file, chose "Extract all files" on the left side of the page and then follow the prompts to extract the files. Once the extracted files appear, double click on the HostsXpert application and then choose Run.

When the program loads, click the button on the left side of the screen that says "Restore MS Hosts File", then click "OK". You can now close the program. Then try your connection to the iTunes store again. If that doesn't allow you to connect, please re-run the network diagnostics again and post the results.
