New box is up and running using the same HD that was in the old one. There was nothing wrong with any of the HD's and they all formatted perfectly so it must be somewhere in the MB or CPU that was causing the problem.

When I get the time I'll put the old parts back into a box and find out what exactly was causing the problem just by process of elimination.

Thanks philpower2 for your help and patience.

Glad to hear you are up and running and thanks for posting the update.
Checking out the BIOS on the MB may be worth looking into, possibly
updating it may help.
