Won't let me open

My computer installed new updates last night and when i restarted this morning it won't let me open either firefox or itunes, everything else seems to open fine. I've tried restarting and restoring to before the update and still it's not working. Can anyone help?

I'd reboot and if it still does not work, I would uninstall and reinstall those 2 programs. I am assuming you can access the Internet fine with IE or another browser.
