On it there is an ugly bright blue background with a black block with RED letters. It says:

Now, the system hasn't stopped. I started up a different User account and it works fine. Also, when you go to Properties on the desktop, no changes can be made. At the bottom of the available pictures there is an addition that says Desktop as if it was a picture. It's a fake (note bad English) but I suspect that when I removed something it may have gotten peeved and left a little calling card ... on my desktop!!!
The computer continues to work as the original User, but this lock on my desktop will not leave. I seemed to have picked up something called SpySheriff according to my tray, but I allegedly removed it -- although nothing can be found of it on the Web.
Here is my HijackThis log, although how do I see what is starting up that would cause this mess? I see nothing strange under RUN msconfig.
